Newry City AFC launches Soccer Academy with Evo Soccer Skills!

Evo Soccer SkillsNewry City AFC are pleased to announce the launch of our new Soccer Skills School delivered through Evo Soccer Skills which begins next month. The skills school will be under the guidance of former Newry City player Paul Evans (UEFA B Coach)  in conjunction with Youth Academy manager Conlon Morisson.

Speaking to Newry manager Darren Mullen, he stated “Paul has a proven track record in this field and along with Conlon, who was one of the best youth players in the area, we hope that the partnership will be a great success.”

The Training will take place at The Abbey 3G Pitch on the Ashgrove Road, Newry commencing on Monday 3rd March 2014. The training will be from 6.15pm-7.30pm every Monday night, it is open to both boys and girls between the ages of 4-14 and costs £4 each night.

The coaching sessions will be aimed at improving the children’s skill and technique through fun and enjoyable coaching, and also looking towards a Newry City AFC Development Centre for teams in the Games Development Centre from under seven upwards.

The benefits of the Mini-Soccer programme include; the chance to make Newry City Development teams, fun and enjoyable professional coaching and prizes for the player of the week. Improved kids skills and technique,

small sided games and Wold Cup Nights. It also helps kids have a healthy lifestyle, enables them to exercise, build their confidence and meet new friends.

Darren added “The aim of the skills school is to ensure kids from 4-14 are coached in the correct manner and in an environment that they will enjoy. This is part of the continuous growth of the club and as part of this process we also hope that some of these kids will have the opportunity to play for Newry in the future.”
