From Limavady to Larne, Coleraine to Castlederg, the Travel Club has followed the team across the country for 4 years now with a supporter’s bus going to every away game.
The initial idea behind the creation of the Travel Club was to take supporters to away games as safely and cheaply as possible. The creation of the club meant that the most expensive trip of the season only cost £10 for a return trip of almost 200 miles. The club also ran several successful schemes in order to raise money to to keep the club afloat; including nights at the races; golden goal tickets; weekly raffles and auctions. All in all it meant that more supporters were able to travel and watch their team play away from home every second week.
There is always friendly banter on the bus and new people are always welcomed with a friendly greeting. In the future, we aim to keep this club alive so that those fans can continue to travel and watch Newry City AFC in action. Don’t be shy about asking any questions which you may have about the club.
