Newry City AFC (the Club) is seeking an Academy Manager to oversee the operations and management of the Club’s teams playing in the Northern Ireland Football League Academy.

The Academy Manager will be responsible for the delivery of the Academy Coaching Programme including the recruitment, progression and development of all players and coaches.

With a history both as a player, coach and scout Marty will bring a strong portfolio to the position, a fact not lost to Manager Darren Mullen. “To have Marty on board is a massive coup for the club. He is a perfect fit for what we are trying to do in terms of attracting the best players and coaches to the club. He was the man who got me involved in coaching and I know he will leave no stone unturned in making sure we have the best possible academy. It’s vital that we always have that local heartbeat in our senior team and I’m sure Marty is the best man to ensure we have a continuous flow of the best local talent. It’s an exciting time for the club with plenty of work going on behind the scenes and having an experienced knowledgeable Academy Manager of this stature adds to that.”

Newry City AFC are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to undertake the role of NCAFC Academy Manager. We would welcome the opportunity to speak with individuals who have the passion and drive to work with young people to develop their footballing and life skills.

Essential:

Minimum IFA Level 1 Qualification

Clear Access NI Check / Child Protection

Desirable attributes:

·       Strong leadership and management skills

·       Previous coaching experience / roles within a youth environment

·        Experience in talent identification and recruitment of players

·        A good level of computer literacy &experience recording and reporting information

·       An understanding of the local youth set up & IFA/NIFL/Mid Ulster rules and regulations
